Mt. Sniktau Northeast Face

This is a steep open face with some cliffs on it, visible from the highway. The danger is high here but it makes a good spring line. A slide on the face would rake you over nasty rocks. The best way to do it is to leave a car at the Herman Gulch Trailhead, which is across I-70. Take another car up to the top of the pass and hike along the ridges to get to the peak. You’ll pass the drop in point for the Southeast face. The drop in can be really steep but can be taken easier further down the ridge to the North. Be sure to watch out for wind loading. You’ll want to stay skier’s left when you exit to try to make it to the car. The bridge across the creek is marked on the map near Herman Gulch.
