West Side

Star Peak can be ascended from a wide West facing slope that runs up to a saddle to the North down the ridge from the Summit of Star Peak. It is often skied by people staying at the 10th Mountain Division Lindley Hut, but only should be approached during times of low avalanche danger, as this terrain will expose you to a number of avalanche paths facing everywhere from Southwest to Northwest, and the final ascent to the saddle is particularly steep and avalanche-prone.
