Big Lee

Peak 1 Canyon Gully

Also known as Peak One Canyon Gully, this N-NW steep gully rarely has solid conditions from top to bottom. It requires perfect timing. You’ll probably want to climb the line so you don’t get cliffed out on the way down but you can also access it by down-climbing from near the peak. Watch out for a cornice at the top and small frozen waterfalls midway down. The pitch approaches the low 60s at points. Like all the lines on Peak 1, this one has huge avalanche potential and it slides frequently.
